Hilda J. Hackleman

August 20, 1919 — January 16, 2010

Hilda J. Hackleman, 90, Lapel, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Manor Care in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on August 20, 1919, in Perkinsville, Indiana to James and Mabel (Lennis) Hatton.
She graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1937.
Hilda was a member of the Perkinsville Community Church and T. O. P. S. 190 in Anderson.
She is survived by three children, Jerry (wife, Bessie) Hackleman of Lapel, Stan (wife, Willa) Hackleman of Pendleton, and Sue (husband, Terry) Jones of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Melanie (husband, Kevin) Carey of Anderson, Greg Bell of Noblesville, Bret (wife, Angel) Hackleman of Pendleton, Sheri (husband, James) Arehart of Anderson, David (wife, Jamie) Jones of Anderson, Brenda (husband, Todd) Wiener of Anderson, and Mark (wife, Angie) Jones of Anderson; ten great grandchildren, Brianna Carey, Kaycie and James Arehart, Alec, Drew, and Aaron Hackleman, Chris and Kayla Gilbert, Lily Jones, and Luke Jones; two sisters, Thelma Hill of Texas, and Jackie (husband, Frank) Sylvester of Frankton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Edward Hackleman; two sisters, Phyllis Plake and Martha Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Stan Hackleman officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Care for their wonderful care of their mother during her sixteen week stay.
