Hessell L. Ridgeway

Hessell L. Ridgeway, 97, Anderson, former Pendleton resident, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on February 26, 1912, in Mount Summit, Indiana to James and Rosalie (Snider) Luellen.
Hessell had been employed at the former Fair Store as well as Favorite Flowers in Anderson.
She was a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church and then the Pendleton First United Methodist Church; and was a charter member of the Hoosier Model T Club. Many people will remember her for the plates she painted for grandchildrens classes as well as friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Sue Snideman of Anderson, and Annalue Johnson of Anderson, formerly of Fortville; one son, Ron Ridgeway of Mexico; six grandchildren, Gregory H. Ellis of Anderson, Barbara Ellis of Anderson, Jon Johnson of Anderson, Todd Johnson of Ozark, MO, Amanda Ridgeway of Anderson, and Mollie Stephenson of Anderson; nine great-grandchildren, Crystal Everhart, Erik Ellis, Cori (Ellis) Bowlin, Nathan Dowden, Justin Dowden, Alexandra Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Katie Stephenson, and Caden Hood; three great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee Everhart, Alyssa Everhart, and Isabelle Dowden; a nephew, Brad Cook of Anderson; a niece, Julie Golish of Anderson; and two step-sons, Gerald Ridgeway of Maryland, and Carroll Ridgeway of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Madge Beavers; and a niece whom she reared, Doris Jean Young.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Mr. Don Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
