Herbert George Smith

Herbert George Smith, 91, Anderson, passed away November 25, 2018, at Providence of Anderson after an extended illness. He was born July 18, 1927, in London England, the son of the late Richard Hammond and Jessie Alice (Felton) Smith. Herbert served in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy. He retired from Western Electric. Survivors include his two children, Kevin (Diane) Smith of Pendleton and Karen Smith (Daniel) Caruthers of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Ryan (Kristine) Smith of Hoboken, NJ, Eric Smith of Pendleton, Daniel (Tara) Caruthers of Indianapolis, Jessica (Julian) Perry of Greensburg; great grandchildren, Aleister and Lorelei Perry of Greensburg; siblings, Bobby, Michael, Jessie and Betty with numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Arthur, Richard, Wally, Brian, Lil, Patsy and Rose. The family would like to thank Providence of Anderson and Heartland Hospice for all of their loving care. Per Herbert’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will take place and he will be taken home to England to his final resting place. Memorial Contributions, Herbert’s name, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
