Henrietta L. Herron

Henrietta L. Herron, 94, Lapel, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a brief illness.
She was born on November 4, 1923, in Franklin to Henry I. and Louise (Borgstede) Strohmeier.
Henrietta graduated from Franklin High School in 1941 and worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in the Farm Loan Division in Indianapolis.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel and was a volunteer for the U. S. O. and the American Red Cross during WWII at Camp Atterbury. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 604; the Madison County Shrine Ladies Club in Anderson where she helped with the Childrens Christmas party. She was a life member of the Ladies V. F. W. 690 in Fortville and the Duo Bridge Club.
Henrietta is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Harry whom she married May 28, 1949 in Franklin.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 17, 2018, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Dewey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2018, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Shrines Ladies Club Christmas Fund or the Madison County Shrine Van Fund.
