Helen J. Myers

Helen J. Myers, 84, of Lapel, passed away Tuesday April 6, 2004 at Saint John's Health System Anderson, following a brief Illness. She was born on January 11, 1920 in Anderson, the daughter of Fred and Flora (Hancock) Willits. She was a 1938 graduate of Lapel High School and attended Purdue University. She married Marion A. Myers on June 18, 1941, and helped him start the Myers Insurance Agency in 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1941, and a member of the Nameless Bridge Club. Survivors include two sons, Bob (wife, Kitty) Myers of Lapel, and Jim (wife Cherie) Myers of Lapel, four granddaughters, Betsy (husband, Jim) Taylor, Julie (husband, Greg) Moster, Jennifer (husband, Sean) Connolly, and Amy Myers. Two great grandsons (Matthew Taylor and Alex Moster) also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Myers, on January 26, 2004, her parents, and a brother, John Willits. Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, April 9, 2004 at Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home located at 1010 N. Main Street in Lapel.
