Harry Gene Barger, 78, of Pendleton passed away March 17, 2024. Harry was born on June 2, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Harry S. and Phyllis (Stankey) Barger.
Harry was self-employed in his family’s trade as a glassblower. Over the years Harry demonstrated and sold his artwork in his gift shops at Indiana Beach, Monticello, Indiana, Union Station, Indianapolis, Indiana as well as Pendleton.
He was a graduate of Lapel High School Class of 1963 and was a US Navy veteran serving from 1963 to 1968. Harry was a member of the Pendleton Kiwanis.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia L. “Cindy” Barger whom he married, September 27, 1981; three children, Jeffrey (Kelly) Barger of Pendleton, Joshua (Keandra) Barger of Wilkinson and Cara (Paul) Hartman of Shirley, Indiana; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; brother, Lawson Barger; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert Barger and Ted Barger.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St. Pendleton.
Graveside services including military honors at 11 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at Mendon Cemetery, south of Pendleton with Pastor Brent Weaver officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton Kiwanis or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
