Harold Ray Simmons, 83, of Markleville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was born July 8, 1936, in Geff, Illinois to the late Berlin Simmons & Hattie Mae (Jordan) Hodges. Harold was a Veteran of the US Army. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of employment. His interest included singing classic Hank Williams, Sr. songs, pickin’ the guitar, fishing, farming, and carpentry. Harold was a member of Church of Christ. He is survived by his children, Roxana Saville (special friend, John Ent) of Tennessee, Jackie Saville of Anderson, Harold Simmons, Jr. of Anderson, Lillian (husband, Frank) Morrow of Kentucky, Rose (husband, James) Morrow of Markleville, & Jennings Simmons of Anderson; grandchildren, Erica (special friend, Brandon Barnes) Morrow, Frank (wife, Tamara) Morrow, Jr., James Morrow III, Jessica Simmons, Cheyenne Morrow, & Olivia Morrow; great grandchildren, Eliza Stanley, Kyle Fellows, Alyna Fellows, & Braxton Hall; brother, Robert E. (Sharon) Simmons of Georgia; sister, Lillian Gylling of Chicago; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Jim, & David Simmons. Services will be at Noon Thursday, February 27, at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. Burial with Military Honors will be at McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
