Harold I. Cox, 78, Yorktown, passed away April 11, 2016, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born November 22, 1937, in Anderson, the son of the late Harold S. and Alice (Spaulding) Cox. He was a graduate of Markleville High School; he served in the US Marine Corps and retired in 1991 from Pepsi, where he worked as a truck driver for 27 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #135 and enjoyed NASCAR.
He survived by his wife of 51 years, Mildred Cox; son Frank (Vickie) Cox of Muncie; grandson Brandon (Amy) Cox of Muncie; great-grandson Brycen Cox; siblings Pierre (Ruth) Cox, Marvin Cox, Nedra (Nate) Landaker and Karen Cox; and brother-in-law Michael (Cathy) Leisure of Chesterfield.
Harold was preceded in death by his sister & brother-in-law Clarice & Clifford Tucker.
Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be follow in Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton.
Friends may call from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital 5th Floor and I.C.U. for their tremendous care of Harold.
