Harold Eugene Scott

Rev. Harold Eugene "Bud" Scott, 86, Lapel, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Harbour Manor Health and Living Community in Noblesville. He was born on July 26, 1929, in Lapel, Indiana to Harry and Mabel (Renner) Scott. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1947, Anderson College, and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Harold served the following congregations: Andersonville, Rockport, Linton Otterbein, Lebanon Otterbein, Lawrenceburg Hamline Chapel, Milan, and Carrolton/ Mt. Lebanon. He was currently Pastor Emeritus at Ford Street UMC. He is survived by two sons, Gregory R. (wife, Gay) Scott, Lapel, IN; Kurt (wife, Patty) Scott, Greencastle, IN; two granddaughters, Holly (husband, Matthew) Kraick, of Lebanon, OH; Amy (husband, Terry)Thrift, of Yulee, FL; one grandson, Trent Scott, of Greencastle; four great-grandsons, A.J. and Lincoln Kraick, Levi and Mark Russell Thrift. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty-eight years, Donna Lee (Carpenter) Scott; his son Brad L. Scott; two sisters Evelyn and Lula Mae. Funeral will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2015, at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Holdzkom officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Ford Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
