Harold Carpenter, 66, of Anderson, passed away July 27, 2014, at Countryside Manor following an extended illness.

He was born July 17, 1948, in Anderson, the son of the late Eugene and Virginia (Parsons) Carpenter.

He was a life long Anderson resident. Harold worked as a baker for several area companies until he retired in 1982. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, fishing, being with friends and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet (Hiatt) Carpenter; daughters, Faye (Greg) Jackson of Anderson and Minona “Sissy” Denton of South Whitley; grandchildren, Jessica Browning-Hunt of New Castle, Rose Browning, Betty Browning, both of Anderson, Minona Denton, Michelle Denton, Phillip Denton all of South Whitley, and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Browning and a brother Chester Carpenter.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
