H Maxine Curnutt

H. Maxine Curnutt, 92, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on February 28, 1912, in Madison County, IN to Fred and Pearl (Jarrett) Haas. She was the owner and operator of Maxine's Beauty Shop in Lapel for 57 years making it the oldest business in Lapel. She also had Remember Us For Antiques shop in her home. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, the Nameless Bridge Club, and she was an avid bowler. She is survived by two sons, Fred (wife, Linda) Busby, and Royce (wife, Julie) Busby both of Anderson; a step-son, Don (wife, Melanie) Curnutt of Richmond; eleven grandchildren, Rick (wife, Darla) Busby, Shawn (wife, Jill) Busby, Kathleen (husband, Jeff) Singer, Ronald (wife, Amy) Busby, Royce (wife, Amber) Busby, Jama (husband, Brian) Brown, Andrea (husband, Andy) Dudas, Elise (husband, Lew) Hansel, Tammy (husband, Everett) Crose, Edwin (wife, Rita) Drews, and Shannon (husband, Mark) Clough; and eighteen great grandchildren, Randy Matthews, Shane Singer, Kelsie, Ryan, and Wesley Busby, Nathan, Nicholas and Adam Busby, Alex, Austin, and Adam Busby, Seth Busby, Benjamin and Savannah Crose, Lindsay Drews, Travis and Branden Brown, Ali Clough, Hayden and Madison Brown, and Gracie and Madison Dudas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Curnutt in 1969. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
