Gwendolyn A. Peacock, 80, of Greenfield passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Hancock Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She was born December 14, 1936 in Wilkinson, IN, the daughter of the late Lyle F. and Ethel (Wilkerson) Rozzell. Gwen retired from Eastern Hancock High School in 1996 after 31 years as secretary to the Principal. She was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ, an avid cookie baker, and enjoyed cooking for other people. She married her husband, Buck, September 5, 1954 in Wilkinson. Survivors include, husband, Lynn (Buck) Peacock of Greenfield; son, Douglas (Desa) Peacock of Fortville; daughter, Sherri (Michael) Crider of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Bryce (Whitney) Crider, Adam (Emily) Crider, Kyle (Kelsi) Peacock, Kollin (Aubrey) Peacock, and Kaylee Peacock; six great grandchildren, Isabella, Austin, Carson, Nolan, Gracie, and Maverick; sister, Jayne Nibarger of California; several nieces and nephews, Carletta Sullivan, Kevin Jones, Stephanie Duncan, Mike Nibarger, and Shannyn Gaynor. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lyla Rozzell Reel. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-6 PM, at Condo & St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 130 S. Main St, Wilkinson. Pastor Ryan McCarty will officiate a funeral service Monday at 10:30 A.M. at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. State Road 109, Wilkinson. Memorial contributions are suggested for the Kenneth Butler Soup Kitchen, 202 E. Main Street, Greenfield, in 46140.
