Griffith Jones

Griffith E. “Bob” Jones, 71, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Seymour on November 8, 1943, and lived in Pendleton and Anderson most of his life. He retired from South Madison Community Schools where he was a maintenance supervisor.

Bob was a member of the Anderson Eagles Lodge where he was a club manager and a trustee. He enjoyed many hobbies which include, hunting, fishing, gardening, painting, playing instruments, dancing, carpentry, mechanical and loved restoring his corvette. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Jones of Anderson; children, Kim Jones of Anderson, Christy Jones of Anderson and Jeramy (Cassie) Jones of Anderson; step children, Randy (Tina) Webb of Elkhart, Carrie Clark of Anderson and Jeremy Rogers of Middletown; grandchildren, Desiree’, Jaylin, Kylan, Ninah, Nehmiah, Jayce and Kyleigh; step grandchildren, Casey and Jeremy Keith; great grandchildren, Mikelah, Amaris, Meilin and Eimy; sister, Suzanna Finley of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Griffith and Suzanna Jones and brother-in-law, Phil Finley.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Chaplain Scott Ellison officiating.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
