Mr. Gordon L. Bulen

Gordon L. Bulen, age 81, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, after an extended illness. He was born on January 15, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana to Raymond and Anna V. Bulen (Bousman). He resided most of his life on a farm in Pendleton, Indiana. He married Peggy Lee Keller on June 24, 1955. They had two children, Gordon Laine Bulen of West Palm Beach, Florida and Gina Rene Jones (Andrew) of Fishers, Indiana. After Peggy’s death, Gordon married Edie Wardwell, and they were married 24 years. Gordon graduated from Lapel High School in May of 1955. He carried on his family’s legacy by continuing the tradition of farming. In addition, he was employed at General Motors for over thirty years and was also employed several years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church. He was involved with Masonic Lodge Ovid #164, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, and Madison County Shrine Club, where he was actively involved with the Desert Patrol. Gordon leaves behind a legacy of work ethic and a sense of humor and story-telling that he maintained until the last days of his life. There was never a doubt about the things that Gordon loved, especially IU basketball, golf, rhubarb pie, and above all his family. He is survived by his wife Edie Bulen, their children Gordon Laine Bulen, Gina Jones, Steve Hosier, and Cathy Senseney, six grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation hours will be on Saturday, December 30th 2017 from 11:00-1:00pm at Brown-Butz- Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson. Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 30th 2017 at 1:00pm with Bob Bell officiating. Burial with military honors will be conducted by Daleville American Legion Post #446 immediately following the funeral at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Gordon’s memory to Bethany Christian Church in Anderson, Indiana or Shriner’s Children Hospital.
