Glenn W. Gustin, 81, Markleville, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
He was born on April 15, 1929, in Union Township, Indiana to Vance and Georgia (Ball) Gustin.
He attended the former Markleville High School where he participated in basketball and track.
Glenn retired from the former Inland Fisher Guide division of General Motors and had also been employed at the former Nicholson File both in Anderson he had also been employed at one time by Chrysler in New Castle and the John Randall Farm.
He is survived by three children; Elizabeth Jo (husband, Dave) Smith of Galion, OH, Edith Ann (husband, Bruce) Day of Michigantown, and Paul (wife, Kim) Gustin of Markleville; one daughter-in-law, Trish Gustin Everman of Anderson; eleven grandchildren, Luke (wife, Sarah), Adam (fiance, Katie), and Caleb (wife, Lindi) Smith, Brittany and Blake Day, Mikah (husband, Darrin) Wilson, Matthew (Jennifer) Gustin, Amy (husband, Bryan) Seeko, and Christian (Cassie), Lucas (wife, Danielle), and Jacob (wife, Tara) Gustin; eight great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Kelsey, Amanda, Jaylan, Trinton, Darl Glen, Dawson, and London; one brother, Herbert (wife, Mary) Gustin; a sister-in-law Sally Gustin all of Markleville; a special friends, Helen Gustin and family; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert "Bobby" Gustin; three brothers, Harold, Gerald, and Ralph Gustin; and two sisters, Evelyn Gustin and Lillian McCormick.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Gerald Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Adams Township Fire Department, 7457 South 200 East, Markleville, IN 46056 or the American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Gerber, Marie Reese, the caregivers from the Rawlins House and the Seasons Hospice.
