Glenn Campfield, 90, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a battle with pneumonia.
He was born on March 20, 1927, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
Glen served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He retired in 1993 from Martin Marietta Aggregates and had once worked at the former Citizens Grain in Lapel.
Glenn was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Kentucky and was an avid sports fan especially baseball which he played for years. He always had a large vegetable garden and he shared the produce with friends and neighborshis tomatoes were the best!
H is survived by his wife of 68 years, Juline; one daughter, Diana and son-in-law, Bill; sisters-in-law, Helen and Katherine; nieces, Ginger and Cindy; nephew, Steve and their families; several cousins; and many friends and neighbors including many special young friends, Danielle and family, Jake, and the Riffey girls.
Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Terry.
Remember our dad and husband as a hard worker with a work ethic that he passed down to his children. A huge laugh and he would always tell you like it was, even if you didnt like it.
As Glenn requested, there will be no visiting or service.
