Gladys F. Hollon, 87, of Anderson, passed away January 28, 2019, at her residence following an extended illness. Gladys was born July 1, 1931, in Brookville, Indiana to the late Charles and Rhoda (Edwards) Duff Gladys and her late husband, Charles, owned and operated the Hollon Pharmacy from 1970 to 1988. They also owned a rental business from 1954 to 2018. Beside her business activities Gladys was involved in Republican politics for many years. She hosted several of the leading politicians in her home, including Governors Bowen and Orr, Senator Lugar and Representative Hillis. She was the state co-chairman for the Ronald Regan campaign and traveled as a good will ambassador to China with Vice President George H. W. Bush. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends, traveling, and especially spending time at their lake home on North Webster. Gladys is survived by her sons, Jeff (Janet) Hollon and Randall (Anissa) Hollon; grandchildren, Kara Vaughn, Kory Hollon, Lyndsay Koch and Leia Hollon; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hollon; grandson, Kyle Hollon; and a granddaughter, Heather Hollon. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Rev. Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
