Gerard Edward OlsonFamily and friends are invited to attend visitation and funeral services for Gerard Edward Olson, aka Jerry, who died on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Services will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel in Pendleton, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the service will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020.Jerry was 72 years old, born on March 1, 1948. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After high school, Jerry was drafted (1968) into the army and served in the Vietnam War. He then worked for Western Electric for just a few years. Jerry then decided to go back into the army and worked as an aircraft mechanic as well as serving in the Gulf War. Jerry retired from the army in September 1993. Jerry was a very, proud veteran, proud American, and loved his country.Jerry’s favorite hobby was building remote control airplanes. Jerry was a major Buffalo Bills fan and collected lots of the team’s memorabilia.Jerry was a devoted husband to Jeanne Ann Olson who passed on August 19, 2020. He is survived by five sons and one daughter, Leif (Stephanie) Olson, Daniel (Britney) Olson, Jason (Kristy) Olson, Kevin (Megan) Olson, Jeremy (Kelly) Olson, and Sandy Valdenegro. Jerry was also a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren…Logan, Shawn, Mycala, Riley, Brooklyn, Gabrielle, Madelyn, Collin, Rowan, Victoria, Vanessa, and Veronica.Jerry is survived by his two brothers Herbert (Joanne) Olson and Chester (Cathy) Olson as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Susanna Olson, his two brothers Kenneth and Martin Olson and his sister Arlene Gibson.Jerry was loved very much and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.Current State health mandates require social distancing to be observed and masks be worn during all visitations and services.
