Geraldine P. “Geri” Mudd, 84, of Anderson, passed away August 17, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born June 25, 1930, in Daleville, the daughter of the late Orville and Mary (Rogers) VanMatre. She had lived in Anderson most of her life.
She retired from Delco-Remy on March 1, 1992 after 43 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Mudd of Anderson; her children, Christina Thies of Des Moines, IA., Chuck (wife, Cindy) Stewart of Stilwell, OK., Chari Patterson of Gaston, Charme (husband, Kevin) Gaddis of Daleville and Chonda (husband, Wayne) Piper of Cicero, IN; two step children, Denise (husband, Alex) Valdez of Anderson and Byron (wife, Amy) Mudd of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tracey, Charlie, Ashton, Brandi, Brandon, Grace, Nicholas, Cameron, Emma and Olivia; several great grandchildren; her brother, Joe VanMatre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Todd; sister, Elsie and brother, Junie.
The family wishes to thank St. Vincent’s Hospice in Anderson for all the care given to Geraldine.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent’s Hospice in Anderson.
