Gerald Lee Fredericks (67) of Markleville, passed away May 31, 2017 at St Vincent’s Regional Hospital in Anderson with his family at his side following a sudden illness. Born January 23, 1950 to Wilbert and Phyllis Fredericks in Anderson, he was raised in Chesterfield, attended St. Mary’s Catholic Schools and graduated from Highland High School in 1968. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1973, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Foley on August 29, 1970 who survives him. They are members of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Anderson. After graduation, Gerry worked for Felt Office Supply in Kokomo. In 1974 Gerry and Diane moved back to Anderson where he joined the family construction business. He served as president of Fredericks Inc Contractors of Pendleton, retiring in 1997. Following retirement, Gerry founded Gerry’s Construction Services in Markleville. His favorite days were in the seat of the Caterpillar 314C track hoe knocking something down. Gerry and Diane were blessed with three daughters: Angela Butcher (husband Matt) of Anderson, Rebecca Galvin (husband David) of Pendleton and Kate Shelton of Charlotte, NC. They also have eight grandchildren: Jason Neal, Kirsten Seal, Kelsey Seal, Emma Shelton, Ava Jane Shelton, Chloe Shelton, Sean Galvin and Brendan Galvin. Besides Diane, his wife of 46 years, Gerry is survived by seven siblings: brothers Ed Fredericks of Anderson, Steve Fredericks (wife Terri) of Huntsville, John Fredericks of Pendleton, Bill Fredericks (wife Jeanne) of Huntsville, and sisters Janice Campfield (husband Buck), Phyllis Goettman (husband Robin) and Karen Carr (husband James) Gerry is also survived by his mother in law, Joan Foley of Anderson and brother in law Jerome Foley (wife Pam) also of Anderson and countless nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, father in law Otha (Bill) Foley and niece Julie Kappeler. Gerry will be remembered as a loving spouse and father, a compassionate, giving soul and brother and an energetic entrepreneur to the many friends he made over the years Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E 53rd Street, Anderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Monsignor Sell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Anderson on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Anderson Memorial contributions may be made to St.Vincent de Paul Society through the funeral home.
