George Washington Schuyler

George W.Schuyler, 87, Lapel, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a sudden illness.
He was born on July 17, 1921, in Lapel, Indiana to John and Myrtle (McCarty) Schuyler.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1940 and he was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army where he served as a lineman in Japan.
George retired from farming.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine, Lapel American Legion Post 212, and Fortville V. F. W.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Sedwick) Schuyler; three children, Danny Schuyler (companion, Becky Beach) of Lapel, Sharon McDermit of Lapel, and Richard (wife, Cathy) Schuyler of Lapel; four grandchildren, Brian (wife, Alissa) Schuyler of Anderson, Stacy (husband, Nathan) Wainscott of Lapel, Dustin (wife, Emily) Schuyler of South Korea, and Beth McDermit (companion, Josh Anderson) of Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Annie Schuyler, Cristian Schuyler, and Grant Boles; several nieces and nephews including, Steve (wife, Cheryl) Schuyler of Lapel; and one brother, John T. (wife, Betty) Schuyler of Lapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joe Schuyler.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion post will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
