George O. Taylor

George O. Taylor, 75, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on October 26, 1928, in Lapel, IN to Leroy and Gladys (Lewis) Taylor. He was a 1947 Anderson High School graduate and a Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1981 from Delco Remy after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Anderson Loyal Order of Moose, the Anderson V. F. W., the Anderson and Alexandria Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Anderson American Legion, the Anderson Elks Club and the Pendleton Amvets. He is survived by two daughters, Nita (husband, Terry) Breedon of Anderson and Sherry McClure of Bartlett, TN; one sister, Leona (husband, Robert) Lowder of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Carmen (husband, Eddie) Taipalus, Colette Hasting, Melissa (husband, Mark) Watts, Amber Johnson, Troy Breeden, Shawn (wife, Tina) Walker and, Ashley (husband, Jeremy) McIntyre; nine great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and special partner, Barbara Reser of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parent and a brother, Robert Taylor. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel at a later date. There will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 707 West 8th Street, Anderson, Indiana 46016.
