George M. Males

George M. Males, 93, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at his residence following a brief illness.He was born on November 1, 1926, in Lapel, to Harvey Males and Maude (McDonald) Males.George graduated from Lapel High School in 1944.He retired in 1986 from Delco Remy, division of General Motors after 22 years. George previously worked for Brockway Glass in Lapel for 12 years. George served his country in the United States Army. George was a proud member of the 1943 and 1944 Lapel Basketball team, he also played baseball for Lapel High School. George was a former member of the Fishersburg Wesleyan Church, and attended Lone Oak Wesleyan Church. George enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed his grandchildrens activities. He was also an avid fisherman. He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Debbie) Males of Greenfield, and Mark (Diana) Males of Anderson; grandchildren, David (Sheri) Males of Sturgis, MI, Alison (Matthew) Boxer of New Market, MD, Amanda (Tim Hood) Ridgeway of Anderson, and Mollie (Kevin) Stephenson of Anderson; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Freda (Renner) Males of 67 years; brother, John Males; and three sisters, Katherine, Esther and Minnie Alice.A public graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Brookside Cemetery, 2900 Brookside Road, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor John Pflum officiating. A private family visitation will be held.
Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion, Post 212.
The family request that all wear mask at the graveside service.
