George “Georgie” Clystal Perkins

George “Georgie” Clystal Perkins, 82, of Anderson, passed away October 4, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Paoli on August 12, 1935, the son of Artle and Hattie (Willis) Perkins. He graduated from Paoli High School and has lived in Anderson most of his adult life. He served in the U.S. Army. And he retired from Delco-Remy. George enjoyed golfing, fishing, IU basketball and was a talented artist, particularly painting. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ella Mae (Stroud) Perkins; children, Terry Perkins, George (Angie) Perkins and Nikki (Tony) Combs; grandchildren, Hannah, Chelsea (Jake), Abigail, Orin, Dale, Jacob, Chris, Destynne (Daniel), Stephanie (Matt), Sydney (Geoffrey), Gaven and Vito (Tia); great-grandchildren, Chandler, Blakely, Justice, Elyjah, Brinnley, Sophia, Colton and Makenzie; sister, Janie Guy; brother, Jerry Perkins; and a large extended family. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Gina Kirkland officiating. Burial will be in Whetstone Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
