George E Kirkpatrick, age 90, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor. He was born April 8, 1930 in New Castle to the late Orman & Ida (Addison) Kirkpatrick. George retired from Delco Remy after 37 years as a drafting engineer, loved being around his family and friends, belonged to a wood working craft club and was a member of the 6th St. Christian Church. He served 4 years on the Shenandoah school board and was a member of the Middletown 271 Blue Lodge, Royal Arch Mason Council, served as the Worshipful Master and High Priest of the Royal Arch Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Order of Eastern Star #110. He belonged to the Chesterfield American Legion and Order of the Moose. George proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1948-1951. Survivors include his wife Gloria (Begin) Kirkpatrick, son; Joseph (Kristina) Kirkpatrick, grandsons; James (Lea) O. Kirkpatrick, Bradley M. (Ashley) Kirkpatrick, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and close friends, Mark and Ruth Graves. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters; Nancy Lea Kirkpatrick and Rebecca Jane Kirkpatrick, son; David E. Kirkpatrick and siblings; Pete Kirkpatrick, Dorothy Brown, Margaret Jane Burgess. Services will be Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Condo and St Pierre Funeral Service in Wilkinson with Pastor Michelle Brown officiating. Friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service. There will be an Order of Eastern Star and Middletown #271 Masonic service prior to the service. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Due to recent COVID-19 mandates, all guests are required to wear face coverings or masks and practice social distancing at visitation and services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
