George Albert Stoner, 70, of Chesterfield, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 unexpectedly at his residence.

He was born March 11, 1945 in Anderson to the late Lloyd and Vivian (Lemon) Stoner. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1963 and retired from Guide Lamp in 1999 after 37 years of service. He had also worked as an Agent for both Anderson Newspapers in the town of Chesterfield for 17 years and was a driver for the Mecum Auto Auction.

Al was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #563. He coached Little League Baseball, Basketball and Football and played on the 1960 Babe Ruth All Star State Champion team that went on to the World Series.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce Ann (Redenbaugh) Stoner of Chesterfield; two devoted sons, Brian Albert Stoner of Anderson and Brad Edward (Stephanie) Stoner of Pendleton; Proud Grandfather of Taylor Danielle (Alex) Wilkinson of Fishers, Alyssa Hoover of Pendleton, Hannah Barbara Stoner (Coby Richardson) of Anderson and Mason Albert Stoner of Indianapolis; a great grandson, River Alexander Wilkinson of Fishers; sister, Patricia (Robert) Williams of Pendleton; two brothers, Richard (Berta) Stoner of Peoria, AZ and Robert (Jeanne) Stoner of Eaton, OH; sister-in-law, Shirley Stoner of Windermere, FL; father-in-law, Joseph Redenbaugh of Chesterfield; two sisters-in-law, Theresa (Michael) Koester of Anderson and Lynn (Kenneth) Ryden of Yorktown; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many cherished and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Vivian Stoner; daughter, Barbara Ann Stoner; mother-in-law, Bettye Redenbaugh; brother, William Stoner; sister-in-law, Debra Walker and niece, Beth Stoner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 951, Anderson, IN 46015.
