Gayla Louise Kolenda

Gayla Louise Kolenda, 56, of Daleville, passed away June 18, 2022, at 4:02pm at Ascension St. Vincent, Anderson in following an extended illness.
She was born on August 24, 1965, in Anderson, Indiana to Douglas Arthur Kolenda and Shirley Louise (Patterson) Kolenda.
Gayla graduated from Daleville Jr. Sr. High School in 1983.
She worked at Dairy Queen in Chesterfield and Anderson, Frisch's Big Boy, for Dr. Joanne Ray's office, and Total Performance Cleaning. She loved gardening, rummaging, NASCAR, cooking for her family, and taking road trips.
Gayla is survived by two daughters, Ciara (Byron) Land, Bailey (Ralph McCall) Ferguson; one son, Logan (Crystal Young) Ferguson. Her bonus kids, Nova, Noah, Natalie, Nakota and DJ; One sister, Cindy Kolenda; one brother, Johnny Kolenda; one ride or die sister of 44 years, Sherry (Larry) Tumulty; Four grandchildren, Cyrus Land, Augustine "Jackson" McCall, Brentley Jamielynn Ferguson, and Gracelynn Louise Ferguson. Two aunts, Edna Gossage and Vivian Gwaltney; Special nephew who gardened with her, Austin and his siblings, Marley, Kennedi, and Jaxon. Nieces and Nephews, Alana, Donnie, Deven, Caleb, Meghan, Holly, Laney, and Kaely. She is also survived by many cousins, special friends, Sharen Friend and Karen McNeil.
She was preceded in death by her parents, special nephew, David Hendricks, and her beloved dog, Booger.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 5:00pm at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 3615 Raible Avenue, Anderson, Indiana 46011 with Pastor Alvin Dayton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home to assist with final funeral expenses.
