Gary James Bennett

Gary James Bennett, 62, Breman, AL, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010.
He was born on December 10, 1947, in Noblesville, Indiana to James and Betty (Goodnight) Bennett.
He graduated from Lapel High School in 1966 and served in the U. S. Army in Viet Nam in the late 1960s.
Gary retired from the former Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson.
He is survived by three children, Grant Bennett of San Jose, IL, Paula (husband, Tobin) Bruner of Anderson, and Michael Bennett of Carrollton, TX; his mother, Betty Bennett of Lapel; one brother, Jeff Bennett; one granddaughter, Miranda Bruner; two step-children, Claudia (husband, Matt) Linn-Valentine of Pendleton, and Shane Mollenkopf of Arcadia; an aunt, Ruth (husband, Albert) Ebeling of Kokomo; and several cousins including Dale Howey of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Private burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
