Garry Gene Hornbeck

Garry Gene Hornbeck, 61, of Anderson, passed away, Jan. 1, 2020 at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. Garry was born, August 18, 1958, in Anderson, to the late Millard Mel Hornbeck and Wilma Jayne Seal. He was a lifelong Anderson resident and retired from Guide Lamp in 2000. Garry had a great sense of humor, compassion and generosity. He loved to laugh and have fun. He rescued many dogs and especially loved his K9 friends, Abby, Gretchen, and Harry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his fiancée, Janet Bevelhimer; brothers and sisters, Larry (Lynn) Hornbeck, Randy (Kim) Hornbeck, Kathy Buck, Becky (Don) Burk, Barry (Annette) Hornbeck, Rick (Darlene) Hornbeck, and Tony Seal; sister-in-law, Belita Hardwick; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a special uncle and aunt, Jack and Bette Elijah; and Janet’s mother and father, Bert and Berenice Brooks, Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service with Pastor Ray Renner officiating. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Please feel free to dress casual to honor Garry’s lifestyle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League of Anderson.
