PENDLETON- Garet Frederick Gaskill,19, of Pendleton passed away June 5, 2020 at his home.He was born January 2, 2001 in Indianapolis and was a lifelong Pendleton resident.Garet was a 2019 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and completed his freshman year at Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Fortville. Garet had a love of studying Spanish and traveling to experience Latin culture. He enjoyed soccer, kayaking and fishing. Survivors include his parents, Keith and Letha (Ashburn) Gaskill of Pendleton; brother, Connor Gaskill; nephew, Major Gaskill; grandparents, Frederick and Joyce Gaskill of Pendleton and Roger and Susie Ashburn of Yuma, Arizona; girlfriend, Chloe Williams; several aunts, uncles and cousins.A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln St., Anderson with Father Rob Hankee officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.A public visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton.In accordance with public health guidelines in effect the wearing of masks is requested and social distancing practices to be maintained. Attendance will be limited to 100 individuals at any given time.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to a scholarship fund to be established with the South Madison Community Foundation in Garet’s name for students pursuing Spanish studies.
