Gala Mae Polley, 82, of Markleville, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was born April 7, 1935, in Greenfield, to the late John Robert & Yettive Janice (Haggerty) Smith. Gala retired from Western Electric and then became a foster parent for ten years. She enjoyed many crafts but loved crocheting and ceramics. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (husband, Rick) Arnold & Penny (husband, Gary) Goudy; siblings, Pam (husband, Bob) Bever & Johnny (wife, Barbara) Smith; daughter-in-law, Sharon Polley; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Polley; daughter, Darla Lee Braden; son, Thomas Rodney Polley; and brothers, Robert E. Smith and Rickie L. Smith. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
