Fred W. Steffler, 85, Anderson, passed away August 13, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born December 20, 1929 in Anderson and he lived here his entire life. He retired from Recreation Equipment in 1993 after 47 years of employment. Fred enjoyed watching movies in his spare time and going to the River with his very close friend, David Wiker. The family would like to thank the morning staff of Arby’s on 53rd street, the waitresses at the Waffle House on Scatterfield and the staffs of Frisch’s on Broadway and Bob Evans for all the wonderful service they gave to Fred over the years.
He is survived by his daughters, Penny Marie Boner of Anderson and Vickie Kay Rudd of Greenfield; grandchildren, Kimberlie Wright, Paul Boner, Jr., Tracy Barrett Kelley, Paula Golday and Gregory Steffler; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Bernice Steffler of Waxhaw, NC; and lots of special friends..
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Pauline Steffler; father, Frank Harley Steffler; mother, Helen Steffler-Jones; son, Fred Steffler, Jr.; son-in-law, Paul Boner; and brother Frank Steffler.
Service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday August 18, 2015, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Mike Weber officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
