Fred Arney Jr.

Fred Arney Jr, 82, Lapel, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at his residence in Lapel following a brief illness.He was born on December 5, 1936, in North Vernon, Indiana to Fred Arney Sr. and Minnie Alma (Lacey) Arney . Fred served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a former member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Fred had a love for music and enjoyed listening, singing and playing his music. Fred also had a love for his family and enjoyed entertaining at his home. He retired from Ford Motor Company.Fred is survived by his children, Teresa Wright of Lapel, Carla Arney of Anderson, Kim Morris of Noblesville; granddaughter-daughter, Angela Arney of Portland, OR; 6 grandchildren; 7.5 plus his hero great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Stella Burgess of Lapel; he was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Bud, Harvey; sisters, Beatrice, Julia, Georgia Marie, and Martha Jane.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Brookside Cemetery, 2900 Brookside Road, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor Brad Smith officiating.
