Fred A. McDole, 63, Noblesville, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home following a sudden illness. He was born on May 21, 1949, in Noblesville, Indiana to Fred and Mary (Purkey) McDole. Fred he had worked at the Hopewell Center in Anderson. He attended the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church in Anderson. He is survived by three sisters, Treva Evans of Noblesville, Jane (husband, Mark) Bland of Lapel, and Kathy (husband, Carl) Flatford of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Troy (wife, Kay) McDole of Anderson, Randall "Rod" (wife, Cindy) McDole of Lapel, and Donald McDole of Fortville. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Dennis "Tub", Gary, Lawrence "Cracker", and Ted McDole. Freddy will be missed by many. He came from a large family growing up in Lapel, and there was always something to get into. He idolized his brothers and loved working on cars with them. Freddy enjoyed playing pool and watching NASCAR with his family. He was a man of few words but had a huge heart. People called him special needs but his family thought of him as just special. In his younger years, he loved to ride his bike and moped. It took little to make him smile. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
