Franklin D. Bock, 86, of Anderson died on November 23, 2018. He was born on November 4, 1932 in Nebraska City, NE, the son of the late Clarence and Lottie (Rathbun) Bock. He also had a favorite Aunt and Uncle, Lucille and Bill Nixon who taught him a lot about farming, like, riding a horse, milking a cow, and driving a car. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War, in the U.S. And Japan. He married Mary Anne Wittrock in 1956. In 1960 He graduated, with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Nebraska and was employed by Delco-Remy Division of GM in Anderson, IN until 1970. He attended Ball State University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, then taught elementary school in Middletown and Pendleton until retiring in 1997. During the summers he worked at Behrens Paint Spot in Anderson. Franklin was active in Christ Lutheran Church serving in many offices and boards. He photographed church events and had a personal ministry making greeting cards for friends and relatives. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Mary Anne and son Daniel of Anderson; daughter, Anne (John) Cecere and grandsons Michael and Paul, all of Speedway, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Rieger and a niece, Susan Rieger Will. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 2751 North Scatterfield Road, with Pastor John Jameson officiating. Calling will be from 11:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
