Former Lapel resident, Frank Galliher, 95, Lakeland, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Palm Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeland. He was born on June 19, 1917, in Paris, Kentucky to Ira and Johnnie Galliher. Frank retired from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 36 years of employment. He was a member of the Holiday Rambler Club and he and his wife spent many years of their retirement split between Florida and Indiana. They enjoyed traveling the United States with their friends. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Viola Galliher; one son, Jerry (wife, Sue) Galliher of Lakeland, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sue Haines of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Shelley Hogan, Rick Morelock, Cindy Harvey, Kent Haines, and Kurt Haines; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Haines; a daughter, Beverly Ann Johnson; and a granddaughter, Jana Morelock. Graveside will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 21, 2013, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating and burial will follow.
