Forrest Harold Simmonds, 98, of Anderson, passed away July 14, 2017 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson. He was born on February 16, 1919 in Anderson to the late John and Eva (Jarrett) Simmonds. Forrest served his country in the US Army. He retired from Guide Lamp as a Skilled Tradesman in 1981 after 35 years of service. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson. Forrest enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vivian (Griner) Simmonds; children, John (Marcia) Simmonds of Virginia, Dan (Claire) Simmonds of Ohio, Jennie (Dave) Denniston of Anderson; grandchildren, Dan (Lindsay) Denniston, Amanda (Jeremihua) Davis, Ashley (Mike) Billman, Matthew (Lora) Simmonds; ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Forrest was preceded in death by his siblings, Don Simmonds, and Virginia “Gay” Snyder. Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with Rev. Paul Simmonds officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
