Fonza Dean Vickery, 81, Pendleton, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness. She was born on September 13, 1933, in Birdstown, Tennessee to Church and Pearl (Neal) Pemberton. Fonza retired from the former Firestone Industrial Products plant in Noblesville after 36 years of employment. She was a member of the Ashbury Pointe family and was well known for her green beans and deviled eggs. Most at the Pointe knew her as "Happy Feet." She is survived by her son, Rondal Vickery of Lapel; two sisters, Joyce Moles of Birdstown, TN and Ruth Edgreen of Lapel; special friends and caregivers, Jim and Jackie Lewis and Ginger Green all of Pendleton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dorman and Dorvel "Pete" Pemberton; and special friend, Dane House. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness.
