Farai Rodgers Moyo

June 3, 1988 — December 22, 2021

Farai Rodgers Moyo, 33, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, USA.
He was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1988, in Harare, Zimbabwe to Sylvester Rodgers Moyo and Chiedza Queen Masere.
Farai was a special person, a unitor* of people, and close confidant to many. He will be remembered for his energy, jovial character, and a unique sense of humor. He was a beloved parent, partner, son, brother, friend, and mentor. An overwhelming number of people testify of how much Farai left a memorable mark on their lives. It is abundantly evident that he had a passion to serve others and be there for those he cared for.
Farai was also known for being adventurous he skydived, bungee jumped, and travelled a lot, visiting new places and taking loads of pictures! He was a keen marathon runner and self-proclaimed cook-out expert. (Not sure how the two complement each other?).
Farai was graduated from Ivy Tech College in Indianapolis. He worked as a Cardiac Nurse at Community North Hospital. Farai also loved his community and was an active member of Abundant Vida Nueva United Methodist Church, ZimCatholics USA (MidWest Region), and the Indianapolis Zimbabwean Community.
He is survived by a son, Isaac; his parents; his fianc, Winny Kungu; two brothers, Matsika (Ella) Moyo and Gideon Moyo; and five sisters, Rowai (Stanford) Dobvu, Muchafara (Terence) Maniki, Sandra Moyo, Hope (Dominic) Masamba, and Chidochashe (Justin) Baker.
Farai was preceded in death by a brother, Fungai Rodgers Moyo.
Paying respects: Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Abundant Vida Nueva United Methodist Church, 7840 Ditch Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
Keeping each other safe: Due to COVID-19 concerns, all persons attending the visitation will be required to wear a face mask, use hand sanitizer, and maintain a safe distance from other guests who are not from the same household as themselves. Face masks and hand sanitizer will be available at the venue. [This stipulation is in honor of Farai who would have wanted everyone to keep each other safe.]
A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 and the service will be live streamed on Facebook Live at 1:00 PM via this link: www.facebook.com/hersbergerfuneralhome
For those who want to show support, they may join the motorcade procession from the church to the cemetery. If you would like to join the motorcade procession, please arrive at the parking lot at Abundant Vida Nueva United Methodist Church between 1:30 PM and 1:45 PM. We will ask that all guests who are joining us for the motorcade procession remain in their vehicles at the church and at the cemetery. Only close family members will be allowed on the cemetery grounds for the actual lowering of the casket.
There will be an opportunity, after the lowering of the casket, for guests to visit the burial site and sprinkle dirt on Farais casket as a way of paying their respects. Guests will, however, be asked to wait for family members to vacate the cemetery before proceeding to pay their respects. All this will be well coordinated with specific guidance provided on the day. [Once again, we ask that you please wait in your vehicles until permission is given for guests to visit the burial site and sprinkle dirt on Farais casket as a way of paying respects.]
