Fairy E. Mimi Johnson

Fairy E. Mimi Johnson, 91, Brazil, former Lapel resident, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, at Saint Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil following a one year illness.
She was born on December 26, 1917, in Westfield, Indiana to Otto and Emma (Tracy) Kendall.
She graduated from Noblesville High School in 1936 and from Indiana Business College in 1937.
Fairy retired in 1979 from Riverview Hospital in Noblesville after 13 years of employment.
She was a member of the Phi Beta Psi social soroity of Tipton and she was active in the West Street Christian Church in Tipton
She is survived by two children, Pat Hackett of Brazil and Jeff (wife, Lisa) Johnson of Lapel; five grandchildren, Brent Hackett of San Diego, CA, Holly (husband, Tad) Froderman of Brazil, Tracy (husband, Chris) Snyder of Lapel, Stacy (husband, Jim) Weeks of Anderson, and Todd (wife, Wendi) Johnson of Lapel; nine great-grandchildren, Corbin and Gracelyn Froderman, Ava Lynn and Olivia Snyder, Cameron and Shelby Weeks, and Kaylee, Logan, and Emma Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Jean L. Johnson; her son-in-law, Steve Hackett; a brother, Phil Kendall; a sister, Irene Williams; and three infant brothers.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
