Evelyn Tanner, 96, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born November 15, 1921, in Knightstown, to the late George & Mildred (Davis) Jackson. Known lovingly as “Auntie” by her family, Evie leaves a legacy of laughter and blessings to those who were blessed to love her. She retired from Delco Remy after 30 years. Evie was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ & a 50 year member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She loved puzzles, word searches, and adored playing with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her great nieces, Shantelle (husband, Andy) Ebbert & Alisha (husband, Giuseppe) Cavaletto; nieces & nephew, Shirley Lewman, Linda Jack, Peggy Altoff, Phillip Tanner, Darla Hoffman, Rosemary Noah, & Gloria Besicker; and several great, and great-great nieces and nephews. Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Freemont Tanner; brother, Edward Jackson; sister, Maxine Bever; nieces, Karen (Bever) Brown & Linda Bever; and nephew, Larry Jackson. The New Castle Chapter #116 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at Noon Friday, April 6, at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson, followed by funeral services with John Skomp officiating. Burial will be at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
