Evelyn “Jody” Fernung

Evelyn “Jody” Joan Fernung, 88, of Anderson, passed away on August 2, 2020 at Lindberg Crossing in Anderson. She was born on June 21, 1932 in Economy, Indiana to the late Ora and Viola (Replogle) Garrett. Evelyn retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of service. She enjoyed her gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and church friends. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Rick) Stansberry, James Armstrong; sisters, Carol Sue (Dallas) Miller, Donna (Courtney) Mainord, Linda (Dean) Orman, Margaret Hall, Mona Jack; grandchildren, Machelle (Bobby) Lindsay, Jeremy (Jamie) Gossett, April Gillman, Sherrie Galbreath, Nikki Stansberry, Ricky Stansberry; great grandchildren, Christopher Clevenger, Jacob Weber, Jessie (Mariah) Gossett, Justin Galbreath, Justina Weber, Kassie Maddox, Layne Gossett Makenzie Oyler, Rylan Marlow, Wyatt Ebert; great-great grandchildren, Braden Weber, Dakotah Galbreath, Decker Gossett, Layla Weber, Magnolia Blockson, Mason Wagner, and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Warren; lifelong companion, Charles Fernung; siblings, Ray Garrett, Russell Garrett, Doris Garrett, Marjorie Daugherty, Nina Manley, and Norma Garrett. Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Church, Anderson.
