Evelyn Huntzinger

Evelyn (Burdette) Huntzinger, 93, passed away February 3, 2019.She was born March 19, 1925 in Pendleton and was a lifelong resident.Evelyn was employed at Guide Lamp in Anderson for over 20 years and seven years with her husband, Delbert “Deb” Huntzinger at his State Farm Insurance Agency in Pendleton.She was a 1943 graduate of Pendleton High School. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Pendleton Christian Church and member of Pendleton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #138.Evelyn was active in all aspects of her life; family, friends, golf, bridge and travel. She played golf well into her 70’s and bridge into her 80’s. She always had a smile for everyone and was a sweet considerate soul. Evelyn’s family celebrates her long life, strong will and kindness. She will be missed but her spirit lives on with everyone who knew her.She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Delbert “Deb” Huntzinger; and parents, Ray and Marie (Carpenter) Burdette.Survivors include her son, Jim Huntzinger of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his two children, Katie (Andy) Hyatt of Midland, Texas and children, John, Gracie and Gabrielle; and Jeff (Emily) Huntzinger of Chicago and children, Hayes and Cooper; and her son, Roger (Marsha) Huntzinger of Indianapolis and his two children, Heather (Luke) Crowder of Rogers, Arkansas and children, Jaxon and Charlie; and Nathan Huntzinger of Indianapolis.Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Reverend Michael Canada officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at Lahm Chapel.Memorial contributions may be made to Pendleton Christian Church, 1170 S.
