Eva Lorene Cross

Eva Lorene Cross, 92, Noblesville, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Spring Mill Meadows in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
She was born on October 24, 1915, in Cumberland County, Kentucky to John and Lillie (Page) Claywell.
She is survived by two children Harley E. (wife, Lema) Cross of Elizabethton, TN and Thelma Janette (husband, Joe) Cross-Scuderi of Parrish, FL; two granddaughters, Pamela Echols of Elizabethton, TN and Shari Whitaker of Indianapoolis; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Echols, Joshua Echols, Crystal Schapson, and Nicole Walker; six brothers and sisters, Ira Lee Thomas of New Castle, Howard Claywell of Aderson, Nell Smoot of Louisville,KY, Geneva Keith of Port Arthur, TX, Walter Claywell of Tipp City, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Carlie Cross in 1991; one son, John Thomas Cross; three grandchildren, Linda Cross, Scott Walker, and Brent Harris; three brothers, Jesse Claywell, Powers Claywell, and Reed Claywell; and three sisters, Arnie Pharris, Valley Appleby, and Artie McIntire.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Raymond Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
