Eva I. Lawson

Eva I. Lawson, 95, Elwood, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness.
She was born on March 30, 1915, in Strawtown, Indiana to Earl and Loretta (Hughes) Irion.
She graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1933.
Eva retired in 1975 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson after 30 years of employment.
She is survived by one son, Willie Lawson of Elwood; seven grandchildren, Loretta (husband, Duke) Teagarden of Marion, Lisa Whisler of Tipton, Teresa (husband, Tom) Callan of Port Charlotte, FL, Bill (wife, Linda) Anderson of Atlanta, Trinna (husband, Kent) Bartley of Tipton, Karla (husband, Alan) Wolford of Tipton, and Brooke Lawson of Elwood; fifteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ina McKinney of Sheridan and Iona Meeks of Tipton; and one brother, Edgar Irion of Strawtown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emile Lawson whom she married in 1937; a daughrer, Marilyn Joyce Anderson; and two sisters, Rebecca "Ella" Sutch and Ethel Molina.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
