Eunice Iolene (Sides) Filbrun, 93, of Anderson, passed into her eternal reward on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Envive Healthcare in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born the next to the youngest daughter of Owen and Susan Sides on September 5, 1930, in Arcannum, Ohio. She moved to Indiana with her parents in 1938 where she has lived since.
She worked as a nurse's aide in a hospital in Noblesville before and a year or two after uniting in marriage with Lester Lee Filbrun, son of Homer and Bessie (Crist) Filbrun on June 10, 1951. This union was blessed with three sons and three daughters. There were many good times and many hardships in their 72 years of marriage.
Mom was a God-fearing, conscientious, pleasant and content housewife and a trouper through many joys, disappointments and sorrows of raising children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and also caring for several foster children. There are fond memories of her nurturing nature in everyday life and numerous camping trips and outings. She was a faithful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.
Eunice was the last of the twelve siblings to pass into eternity. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, five sisters, six brothers, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and one son, Melvin.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Lee Filbrun; two sons, Norm (wife, Mary) Filbrun and Mike Filbrun; three daughters, Veneta (husband, Gerald) Denlinger, Julie (husband, Dan) Killion and Sherilee Filbrun; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Private services and visitation will be held on Sunday with Russ Bowman officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pendleton.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all of the prayers and support they have received from family, friends, the staff of the previous Lindberg Crossing, the staff of Envive Healthcare and Southern Care Hospice.
