Esther Mardell Decker

Esther Mardell Decker, 98, of Pendleton, passed away on September 30, 2019 at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born on August 12, 1921 in Hamilton County to the late Ulysses and Bernice (White) Moser.Esther retired as an Office Manager at Amick Electric after 30 years of service. She volunteered preparing taxes for Senior Citizens for 20 years. She attended various churches all of her life.She is survived by her children, Wayne (Mary) Decker of Alexandria, Frances (David) Owens of Princeton; grandchildren, Bruce (Becky) Decker of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Bryan (Michelle) Decker of Salem, Oregon, Karen Decker of Lapel; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Caleb Decker, and several nieces and nephews.Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Decker, son, Dennis Decker, and seven siblings.Services will be on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton. Burial will be at Gibson Cemetery, Mt. Olympus, Indiana on Saturday, October 5, 2019.Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
