Esther Ellingwood

Esther M. Ellingwood, 89, of Daleville, passed away July 20, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on January 22, 1926 in Anderson to the late Isaac and Thelma (Brown) Smith and has lived in Daleville for the past 19 years.

She retired from Elder-Beerman in 1995 where she was a sales associate.

She is survived by her husband, John B. Ellingwood of Daleville; her daughter, Judy (husband, William) Carter-McDaniel of Anderson; her son, Steve (wife, Debbie) Lennis of Muncie; three step children, Daniel (wife, Jackie) Ellingwood of Anderson, Charlotte Ann Ellingwood of Eaton and Jeffrey (wife, Kris) Ellingwood of Hartford City; two grandchildren, Sherri Lennis and Randy Lennis; two great grandchildren, Whitney Kimmerling and Marcus Monroe; two great great grandsons, Eli and Aiden; one great great granddaughter, Layla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lennnis; two brothers, Harry Smith and Donald Smith.

Services will 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Mike Webber officiating. Burial will be in Perkinsville Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
