Ernestine Ann Anthony

July 28, 1940 — January 25, 2023

Ernestine Ann Anthony age 82 passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 25, 2023, in her son’s home in Markleville, IN where she lived for the past 2 years.

Ernestine was born in Santa Cruz, California on July 28, 1940 to Ernest and Ethyl Picanso. After leaving high school in 1956 she married Billy Anthony on November 10, 1956 and was married for 57 years when he passed away on April 28, 2014. Together they had three sons Mark, David, and Philip. They resided in Walnut Creek, California. She proudly raised their sons before starting a career at Sunset Designs as a cross stitch designer where she assisted in making samples to be photographed for product packaging. A change in career paths led her to work for Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, CA as a x-ray developer where she retired after 20 years. Ernestine was an avid crafter and enjoyed going camping with family and friends. She loved her family, pets, cooking, and taking care of others, and was a wonderful, generous, and kind friend. A private memorial service will be held in Markleville, IN, and at a later date in her hometown of Walnut Creek, CA.

She is survived by her brother Mike Picanso; her son and his wife Philip and Kimberly Anthony; granddaughters and spouses Jennifer and Paul Grider, Allyssa Anthony, Darla and Rod Abdolhosseini; and great-granddaughters Dakota and Charlotte Grider.

She will be welcomed into her heavenly home by her parents Ernest and Ethyl; brother, Robert Lacey; husband, Bill; and two sons Mark and David.
