Ernest P. Smalley

Ernest P. Smalley, 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior, April 13, 2018. Ernie was born November 23, 1946 in Pekin, Illinois, to the late Warren D. & Cathryn (Weller) Smalley. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. He was employed with Keystone Steel and Wire in Peoria, Illinois for 33 years. Ernie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leslie (Newton) Smalley; Sons, Aaron (Kristina) Smalley, Nathan (Ashley) Smalley and Adam (Stephanie) Smalley; grandchildren, Ethan, Connor, Tessa, William, Marcus, Claire, Evelyn, Nora and Ruby Smalley; and a brother, Robert Smalley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leland Smalley, Fred Smalley; sisters, Caroline Janssen, Wanita Pool and Barbara Hogue. Services will be 11 a.m, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church, 432 W. 300 N. Anderson, Indiana, with burial at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to either Faith Baptist Church of Pekin Ill., or Grace Baptist Church of Anderson.
